Schluter-DITRA and DITRA-XL are specially designed for use with ceramic and natural stone tiles. It provides an uncoupling function that prevents cracking of tile and grout. Made of polyethylene, DITRA and DITRA-XL serve as a waterproofing layer to protect moisture-sensitive substrates such as plywood/OSB. The voids under the membrane allow excess moisture and vapor to escape from the substrate - otherwise the tile could be damaged. DITRA and DITRA-XL perform all of these functions, in addition to providing adequate support and load distribution for the tile covering.
Provides uncoupling, waterproofing, vapor management and heavy load distribution to maintain the durability and integrity of tiled installations
DITRA has a nominal thickness of 1/8" (3 mm) - limits tile thickness and height of transitions to lower floor coverings
Can be installed over concrete, plywood, OSB, gypsum, existing vinyl floors, structural planks, subfloors and radiant floor heating systems
Features an interlocking rib structure with a non-woven felt underneath that will bond to the substrate without filling the cavities with cement glue
